# 10.T.RA.2: Curating Sources and Evidence

Reference parts of texts to address a specific topic or question and explore various sources of information to make connections across a broad range of topics.

## Expectations

- **10.T.RA.2.a**: Navigate and use a variety of credible print and digital sources, including academic databases, to locate relevant information about a central argument, topic, or question. (I)
- **10.T.RA.2.b**: Analyze information from a variety of sources by identifying misconceptions, conflicting information or perspectives, and/or author bias and verifying the validity, relevancy, and accuracy of the information being considered. (I)
- **10.T.RA.2.c**: Follow Modern Language Association (MLA) guidelines when responding to inferential questions about texts or when integrating and citing textual evidence, ensuring each source is accompanied by a basic entry on a works cited page. (C)

- Literature II (EOC). Texts — Constructing Texts. Research & Analysis Students use, discuss, analyze, and curate texts as they engage in various conversations, activities, and projects about a range of grade-level texts and topics. (about 20% of the test; 12 points; shared with other standards, so count these points once and never add them up per standard)

## What mastery looks like

Georgia's Achievement Level Descriptors. The levels are cumulative: each includes the ones before it. Proficient is on grade level.

- **Beginning**: Follow a standard format for citation when integrating textual evidence.
- **Developing**: Use a print or digital source to locate relevant information about a central argument, topic, or question. Using information from a source, identify misconception(s), conflicting information or perspective(s), or author bias. Follow Modern Language Association (MLA) guidelines when citing textual evidence.
- **Proficient**: Navigate and use a variety of credible print and digital sources, including from academic databases, to locate relevant information about a central argument, topic, or question. Analyze information from a variety of sources by identifying misconceptions, conflicting information or perspectives. Analyze information from a source by identifying author bias and verifying the validity, relevancy, and accuracy of the information being considered. Follow Modern Language Association (MLA) guidelines when integrating and citing textual evidence or creating a Works Cited entry for a source.
- **Distinguished**: Navigate and use a variety of credible print and digital sources, including from academic databases, to locate relevant information about multiple central arguments, topics, or questions.
