# 2.T.T.2: Expository Techniques Overview

Identify and use expository techniques to shape understanding.

## Expectations

- **2.T.T.2.a**: Identify and describe techniques used to craft expository texts, including main idea and key supporting details within specific paragraphs. (I)
- **2.T.T.2.b**: Describe the connection between a series of historical events, scientific ideas or concepts, or steps in technical procedures in a text. (I)
- **2.T.T.2.c**: This progression begins in 3rd grade.
- **2.T.T.2.d**: Use knowledge of expository techniques to create texts that introduce a topic, use facts and definitions to develop the topic, and provide a concluding statement or section. (C)
