# 5.T.T.4: Poetic Techniques Overview

Explain, analyze, and use poetic techniques to shape understandings.

- **Proficient**: Explain how a technique(s) is used to present and/or design poetry, including rhyme and structure. Apply poetic technique(s) to produce a specific type of poem.
- **Distinguished**: Explain how a technique(s) is used to present and/or design poetry and support that explanation with textual evidence.
