Reporting categories
Points are the blueprint's approximate figures. Each percent is of the test's 58 points, rounded; a range such as 7–8 counts at its midpoint.
Functional & Graphical Reasoning
21 points, about 36% of the test
Construct and interpret arithmetic sequences as functions, algebraically and graphically, to model and explain real-life phenomena. Use formal notation to represent linear functions and the key characteristics of graphs of linear functions, and informally compare linear and non-linear functions using parent graphs.
- A.FGR.2 +Linear Functions & Sequences
Construct and interpret quadratic functions from data points to model and explain real-life phenomena; describe key characteristics of the graph of a quadratic function to explain a mathematically applicable situation for which the graph serves as a model.
- A.FGR.7 +Quadratic Functions Modeling
Construct and analyze the graph of an exponential function to explain a mathematically applicable situation for which the graph serves as a model; compare exponential with linear and quadratic functions.
- A.FGR.9 +Exponential Function Graphs
Patterning & Algebraic Reasoning
19 points, about 33% of the test
Create, analyze, and solve linear inequalities in two variables and systems of linear inequalities to model real-life phenomena.
- A.PAR.4 +Linear Inequalities Systems
Build quadratic expressions and equations to represent and model real-life phenomena; solve quadratic equations in mathematically applicable situations.
- A.PAR.6 +Quadratic Expressions and Equations
Create and analyze exponential expressions and equations to represent and model real-life phenomena; solve exponential equations in mathematically applicable situations.
- A.PAR.8 +Exponential Expressions and Equations
Data & Statistical Reasoning
6 points, about 10% of the test
Collect, analyze, and interpret univariate quantitative data to answer statistical investigative questions that compare groups to solve real-life problems; Represent bivariate data on a scatter plot and fit a function to the data to answer statistical questions and solve real-life problems.
- A.DSR.10 +Univariate and Bivariate Data
Geometric & Spatial Reasoning
6 points, about 10% of the test
Solve problems involving distance, midpoint, slope, area, and perimeter to model and explain real-life phenomena.
- A.GSR.3 +Distance, Midpoint, and Area
Numerical Reasoning
6 points, about 10% of the test
Investigate rational and irrational numbers and rewrite expressions involving square roots and cube roots.
- A.NR.5 +Radical & Irrational Numbers
Also part of the test, without points of their own
Practices
From the blueprint: “These practices are embedded within items aligned to the mathematics content standards but are not reported as a separate reporting category.”
Modeling
From the blueprint: “Standard A.MM.1 will be assessed in collaboration with all other content standards.”
Depth of Knowledge
From the blueprint: “Depth of Knowledge (DOK) is measured on a scale of 1 to 4 and refers to the level of cognitive demand (different kinds of thinking) required to complete an assessment item.”
| DOK | Points | Share of the test |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | 12 to 17 | 20% to 30% |
| Level 2 | 32 to 38 | 55% to 65% |
| Level 3 | 6 to 12 | 10% to 20% |
| Level 4 | Not on this test | |
Kinds of questions
| Question type | Questions | Points |
|---|---|---|
| 1-point Selected-Response and Technology-Enhanced | 42 | 42 |
| 2-point Technology-Enhanced | 8 | 16 |
| Field Test Items | 5 | 0 |
| Total | 55 | 58 |
Achievement levels
For the subjects and grades Georgia tests, Georgia Homeroom shows what each Milestones achievement level means in practice, using the state's own descriptions. Georgia publishes these descriptions for tested content, so they are not available for every standard. On this test, 9 of the 9 standards have them, marked “Achievement levels” above; each standard's page shows them.
How this test counts
Under Georgia State Board of Education Rule 160-4-2-.13, an End-of-Course test is the final exam for its course, and its score counts for at least 10% of the student's final grade in the course. Read the rule
